Snort es un IDS basado en Red que cuenta con un sniffer de paquetes, es multiplataforma, es multiplataforma, en otras palabras funciona tanto en Linux como en Windows u otros sistemas. La seguridad total no existe, la Seguridad es Dinámica, aunque existan empresa que gastan miles y miles de dolares, nunca va tener una seguridad al 100%, comúnmente se implementan controles para disminuir el factor riesgo y miedo. Es altamente de recomendable esta al día con la información existente en el mercado, debido a que siempre se estan produciendo nuevas versiones de antivirus, firewalls, IDS, etc por lo que se recomienda que siempre esten actualizadas, tambien asi mismo con las amenzas u otros patrones.
